worldcruising.net is unique in accepting positions from a wide range of communications equipment, including Inmarsat C, Inmarsat D+ and any form of Email from sea.

A basic feature of the Inmarsat C and Inmarsat D+ Terminals is the ability to send automatic position reports, time and date stamped to mailbox. Email position reports are sent by the yacht direct to positions@worldcruising.net in a template format.

Position reports from subscribers can be viewed for free, by anyone with access to the world wide web. However, should you require, access to position reports can be password protected.

Position reports are updated to worldcruising.net at least 4 times daily, 365 days per year.

Displayed on interactive mapping, details include average course, speed and distance since the previous position report and the yacht's last 30 days track.

Links can be created to the yachts own website if applicable or a personal web page can be created to display more detailed information about you and your boat.
